Elephant Bird (Aepyornis Maximus),
Extinct, reconscructed egg, 32cm high x
23cm wide, - The Elephant Birds were giant
ratites native to Madagascar, and have been
extinct since at least the 17th Century. It
was the worlds largest bird, believed to
have been upto 3m tall and weighing close
to 400kg. The egg volume is approximately
160 times greater than a Chicken
