Mounted as worn, with original Parchment Certificate, born Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire. This appears to be his only entitlement. With a Temperance medal, and a Priory for Wales Order of St John silver medal to William Garner 1938. £280 - £300 590 Indian items (2) - comprising Bombay Presidency 1918- 1919 War Relief Fund, Childrens’ Branch, bronze medal + a low grade silver Poona City 1931 Tennis medal, weight 35.7gms. £25 - £35 591 Indian Mutiny Medal with bars Lucknow and Defence of Lucknow (W. Anderson, 78th Highlanders), and India General Service Medal with Persia clasp (W. Anderson, 78th Highlanders). The are two men of this name on the 78th medal rolls, each one entitled to both medals, however only one man has a two bar Mutiny. Both sets of copied service papers are included to prove this. Born Stirling. Mounted as worn on original ribbons. nVF (2) £1100 - £1300 592 Indian Mutiny Medal with bars Relief of Lucknow and Delhi, named (Patk Keheler, 1st Bn 8th Regt). With copy service papers and medal roll, born near Cork. Discharged at (Fort William) Calcutta. (surname spelt Keleher on papers/roll). This is an interesting research project, his papers show him as a Pte, but the original roll on ancestry shows him as a Drummer only entitled to the Delhi clasp, however there are two men on the DNW roll in the same regiment with the same name, one a Pte one a Drummer, both discharged at Calcutta, but with different entitlements. The seller has got as far as he can with the medal, an ideal project.
