Roy Sidney Fyfe Cooper MC was L/G 16 August 1918 for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during a raid on the enemys lines. His company became broken up while advancing at night over most difficult country. He showed great coolness in reorganising the company under fire, and successfully retrieved the situation and gained all his objectives. Serbian Order L/G 16 Jan 1920. Medal claim placed by his father Rev G H Cooper of Alderley Edge, Cheshire, as his son was in Zanzibar 6/7/20. With matching miniature medals, ID Tags, and a 9ct Gold ID Tag engraved (Capt J Cameron-Mitchell 459 West Riding Field Co.RE (T)). MC L/G 1st Jan 1917. John Brown Corrie Cameron-Mitchell was born Renfrew 1885. With copy WW1 service papers (qty) £800 - £850 645 Military Cross in fitted case of issue, unnamed. 1914 Star (Lieut F C Gillard A.V.C.), Victory Medal (Capt F C Gillard), with set of four old miniature medals. MC L/G 25/4/1918 for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When his horse lines were heavily bombarded by hostile aircraft he rushed there and personally dressed every wounded animal, though at least fifty bombs dropped in or near the lines. MM L/G 13/9/1918, schedule No 182182, served 53rd Bde 18th Eastern Div. This MM one of four awards for the March Offensive 1918. Probably for gallantry at Hangard Village/Wood in April 1918. He was recommended for the MM with Sgt Berry who also was awarded the MM and is mentioned in the Regimental History for his gallantry at Hangard on 12th April 1918.
