Badly fitted into an EIC military stock for the 1842 musket. Original buttplate marked to the 23rd Regt of Foot, original ramrod pipes. Crude T/Guard. Barrel 30" approx 8 bore. Muzzle sleeved Old leather sling. Lock in good working order and condition (Some useful original spares e.g. Lock, buttplate, ramrod plates). £60 - £65 47 Musket: An East India Pattern C Percussion Musket 1840-42 (Pattern 'D' T/Guard) Lock with EIC Rampant Lion. Hammer appears to be from a French Mod 1842 Musket. Old series sidelock, action a/f. Steel ramrod. Brass tack decoration to buttstock (possible use as a North American Trade Musket?)
