Admiralty recommendation letter 23/5/1947 DSM L/G 11 November 1941 "During the evacuation from Nauplia on the night 26/27th April, under adverse weather conditions with a fragile and unhandy motor boat and two whalers in tow, he succeeded in bringing off 300 troops. On his last trip inshore, the motor boat broke down completely. As a result, Jackson and his crew were left behind when HMS Isis had to sail. After sundry adventures they subsequently found their way to Monemvasia, where they rejoined". Lot includes a gold Longines wrist watch engraved to Jackson.
