34 724 Tank Corps Military Medal to 309077 Pte. L.Cpl. T.H. Ball 6/Tank C. MM: L/Gaz: 24.1.19. Citation as follows: 309077 L/Cpl. Ball, Thomas Henry. 6th Battn. Awarded M.M. near Ervillers on August 23, 1918, L/Cpl Ball was the driver of a tank in action. He drove his tank with exceptional daring and courage. 'In spite of heavy shell fire, which was directed at the tank from an enemy battery in the open, this N.C.O. drove his tank straight for the guns and right in among the gun crews, enabling the gunners in the tank to deal very effectively with the enemy gun crews, who abandoned their guns and retired, leaving a number of dead.
