Acorn? / Br, this obverse mm. acorn has not been satisfactorily identified, 'acorn' was first put forword by Morrieson, 1929a, p.142, Grinsell SCBI Bristol 193 and North, 1975, p.155, adopted 'acorn' with reservations [the present cataloguer thinks this not an acorn]. The present coin is a die duplicate of Brooker, SCBI 33, pl, XC, 973, same obverse as 974, obverse:- No groundline, flat crown, plume with bands, mm. surrounded by four pellets, reverse:- top panel contains three plumes with bands, central panel reads:- [RE]LIG-PROT:LE: ANLI:PA: and in the bottom panel 1643, Spink 3006, interesting and rare, full and round for the period, well centred, a few weak areas GF £600 - £800 1562 Charles I silver halfcrown, Tower Mint under Parliament 1642-1649, mm. Eye 1645, Group III, type 3a3, Spink 2778, F £50 - £70 1563 Charles I silver shilling, mm. not visible but from style looks like Tower Mint under Parliament 1642-1649, possibly Group F, perhaps Spink 2800, dies too big for flan / clipped, f £50 - £60
