Killed In Action 4/6/1918. On the Loos Memorial. CWGC states 'Son of Col Henry Templer OBE (late Indian Cavalry) and Mrs Henry Templer of 16 Avenue Charles Floquet, Champ de Mars, Paris. Templer was taken POW 22nd Dec 1914 near Givenchy while reconnoitring an enemy position. He subsequently made 13 attempts at escape, being successful in 1917, when he received the honour of a private audience with H.M.The King. He returned to the front in 1918 and was killed on returning from a successful raid on the enemy's trenches. His heroism so impressed the late F.M.
