399 Four superbly produced books of the U.S.A. West Point Military Academy, entitled 'Howitzer'. These list and photograph officer cadets of the years 1941,1942, 1944 and 1945, many of these soldiers were to serve in the European and Far Eastern theatres of World War II. Evidently the previous owner, Robert L.Steele [his name is tooled in gold on front of 1944 and 1945] survived to take volume 1943 [the year of his passing out] home to the States. with the books, in a glazed frame, is his appointment slip to the 'United States Military Academy, dated 1 July 1943 and signed by the second most powerful person in the United States at the time Henry L. Stimson, Secretary of War and the Major General of West Point, Francis B.Wilby.
