F/VF £80 - £120 1528 Anglo-Saxon silver sceat, Primary Issue 650-710 A.D., Series A 2a variety, Spink 775, well centred and struck, EF £180 - £200 1529 Anglo-Saxon: Cnut silver penny, Quatrefoil Type, Spink 1157. Obverse reads from 1 o'clock: +CNVT REX ANGLOX. Reverse reads: +PELSIT MO DEO - Thetford Mint, moneyer Waelgist. Obverse of unusual 'London' style with a very small bust. The moneyer is very rare, having only struck in the Quatrefoiil issue. GEF, most likely ex "Cambridge Hoard". £350 - £400 1530 Anglo-Saxon: Cnut silver penny, Quatrefoil Type, Spink 1157. Obverse reads: +CNVT REX ANGLORVI. Reverse reads: +MORVULF MO STAI - Stamford Mint, moneyer Morulf. Interesting reverse die with "kidney bar" added in the second quarter. The obverse die a little rusty. Almost certainly ex "Cambridge Hoard", GEF £400 - £500 1531 Anglo-Saxon: Edward the Elder 899-924 silver penny. Obverse: Small central cross, legend: + EADVVEARD REX. / Reverse: Three central horizontal crosses dividing legend; trefoil of pellets top and bottom, LANDVC MO: Moneyer Landuc. Spink 1087. A small weak area at 9-11 o'clock but otherwise EF £600 - £650 1532 Cnut silver penny Quatrefoil Type, Spink 1157, obverse reads:- +CNVT REX ANGLORVM, reverse reads:- +LEOFPINE MO DEOD ['NE' ligulate, first 'D' with thorn], Thetford Mint, moneyer Leofwine, this the 9th. specimen known to the cataloguer these dies, 4 of which are in museums. This reverse die in its lifetime seems to have been recut, the present coin possibly the finest and probably Ex. Cambridge Hoard, evenly struck, well centred, couple of tone spots reverse, EF £300 - £350 1533 Cnut silver penny, Pointed Helmet Issue, 1024-1030, two pellets of the pellet headed sceptre rest on the inner circle, obverse reads:- +CNVT RECX A, reverse reads:- +BRVNINC ON LVND [the 'V' cut over two uprights presumably an 'N'], London Mint, moneyer Bruninc, Spink 1158var., this coin is an interesting variety with a pellet placed between the voided cross ends on the reverse, GVF £200 - £300 1534 William I, silver penny, Two Sceptres / Two Stars MULE, Spink 1253 / 1254, obverse reads:- +PILEM REX ANGL, reverse reads:- +SIGVERID ON LINC, [ 'D' with thorn] Lincoln Mint, moneyer, Siguerith, die duplicate of Mossop pl.LXXXI I, 20, the only other recorded, found Norfolk 2018, excessively rare, VF £2800 - £3000
