plugged 12 o'clock.

14376971 Signalman Stanley Taylor R. Corps of
Signals and 7th (L.I.) Bn. The Parachute Regiment
The following 22 lots comprise a unique and
fascinating archive of the medals and personal effects
of Stanley Taylor a signaller who fought with the
South Staffs Regiment in Africa (where he
volunteered for special duties) and who later landed
by glider on 5th June 1944 at Ouistreham and also
participated in the Airborne Crossing of the Rhine on
the 30th March 1945. After the war in Europe
finished he was transferred to Singapore and then
Java to supervise the surrender of the Japanese there.
All the following lots have come directly from
Stanley Taylor's immediate family. Some original
documents have been kindly lent by the family and
copies made for the auction. Many original
documents are included in the sale. Additional
background information has been supplied Sgt.
Taylor's daughter.

defences of Ouistreham marked 'Top Secret' &
'Information as at May 44' 'Sheet No 40/16 N.W.
Defence Legend to back showing defence works and
weapons, minefields etc. This map the one used by
Stanley Taylor after landing by Glider on 5/6/1944.
Map in good condition overall but shows service wear.
(Approx 21" x 26") An outstanding 'D. Day' collectors
item of historical interest.

form signed '7.4.1944', six interesting copy photos of
Stanley Taylor in uniform with his family. A copy of his
experiences in Java - written to his dad. National
Registration I/D card 1951/ Clothing books. Original
photo of Mountbatten in Singapore. Original discharge
form 1946. Copy of his testimonial, this excellent young
NCO has performed sterling work on parachute
operations in Normandy, Germany & S.E. Asia etc.

landing) to 6th July 1944. these completed in action at
Onistrehaum Pegasus Budge etc. eg. 'Being shelled by a
rocket gun. Signal post knocked out (10.6.1944)' & on
12.6.44 'Our area heavily shelled by our own troops!!'.
