Murano' during the war with the French. Extremely
Fine. In medieval Venice a pair of wild ducks were the
traditional gift. The word for wild fowl - 'Oselle' became
the name for presentation pieces such as this, given by
the Doge of Venice. They were produced in silver and
gold, with the goldbeing generally scarcer.
