Canterbury Mint, obverse legend:- X COENVVLF

REX, with central 'M' with bar above, within inner circle,

reverse legend +E/AB/A within arms of a tribrach of

three lines, the outer plain with hook ends, the central

with plain ends but made of pellets, moneyer Eaba, Spink

914, J.J.N. 342, full, round, well centred, with a flan flaw

[split] at obverse 6 o'clock, dark even tone, rare, VF

obverse reads:- +COENVVLF REX M, diademed bust

right, reverse:- Central cross-crosslet, legend around with

many pellets added and wedges around the initial cross:-

ACLHVVN [square 'C' for 'E'. 'N' large and reversed],

the moneyer Aelhun is listed in J.J.N., p.66 not for this

type [345] but for the rare variety with bust left [346],

Spink 918, found Barham, Suffolk, extreme edge loss, top

and bottom, dark, uncleaned, rare, VF
