MBE in original Garrard Case (silver hallmarked 1917),

both with news paper cuttings attributing them to Capt

Siege Guns Belgium. (possible official

correction to 'IU' of Belgium). With French Croix De

Guerre 1914-1915. A Rare early Land Operations DSM

to Albert Ernest Miller from Middlesbrough. At the

outbreak of WW1 he was serving on HMS Mars but in

Feb 1915 was sent to Belgium. His DSM is for Gallantry

in April 1915, he was also Mentioned In Despatches

August 1915 and awarded the French CdC 2/7/16.

Wounded during an Air Raid on Dunkirk 10th July 1916.

DSM L/G 7th August 1915 when in charge of a Naval

Gun 28/4/1915 he helped remove ammunition from a

burning building under heavy and well directed hostile

artillery fire. GVF (2)

Nubian in many highly successful actions against Enemy Shipping in the Mediterranean". L/G 27th July 1943. Lot also includes

large flag and cap, plus other photos. Born Winterborne, Dorset. Died aged 80 years and cremated at Salisbury, having his ashes

cast in the sea from the Calshott Lifeboat. (qty)
