Nottingham Prison Interest. A very

fascinating collection of items relating to

Nottingham prison, circa late 19th to

early 20th century, including the

governors book of prisoners, containing

numerous black & white head & shoulder

images of prisoners mug shots and

manuscript records detailing what crime

each person had committed and when (a

real rogues gallery!), crimes include,

stealing a tin of pineapple, frequenting,

larceny, robbery & violence, gambling,

stealing a haddock, loitering with intent,

horse stealing, etc., contemporary half

morocco binding, 8vo, together with an

original black & white photograph of the

prison (Saint John Street), now

demolished, framed and glazed, image

size 10.8cm x 15.3cm approx., plus a

group of nine original prison keys, for the

cells etc., contained in a hinged

mahogany box with large ship to lid

(possibly made by a prisoner), plus a later

mug shot flip book
