Died 14/11/1942, aged 22, Son of Charles and Elsie

Youngman; husband of Betty Daisy Youngman of

Ipswich Suffolk. On the Alamein Memorial. Box

addressed to Mrs C. Youngman, 44 Romney Rd.

Ipswich, Suffolk. Youngman was a P.O.W. Tobruk who

died whilst en route to Italy on board S.S. Scillin which

was sunk by H.M.Submarine P222.

Hallmarked Silver Medallion Souvenir Wellesley

Training Ship North Shields England inscribed on the

reverse William Campbell Chief Monitor 1884-1888 and

engraved to Osten Persson. Sailor Osten Persson Died

aged 20 on the 22/10/1942 when the S.S. Empire

Turnstone Master Henry Collins in convoy ONS-136

had engine trouble and turned back. At 00.53 the vessel

was torpedoed and sunk by U-621 southwest of Iceland.

All crew were lost. Son of Niles and Margaret Louise

Persson of North Shields, Northumberland. On the

Tower Hill Memorial. Group comes with book The Tyne

Training Ship Wellesley Remembered by Brian Godfrey.

Reichswald Forest War Cemetery. Saviour was 2nd Lt.

28/02/1942, W.S. Lt. 01/10/1942. Acting Captain
