Gilt crossguard & pommel white composition grip. In its gilt brass & leather scabbard. Contained in a gilted wooden box with plaque & medallion. Crown & Eagle badge to box lid. In its matching numbered scabbard (painted black). 2) a Model 1874 Gras Epée bayonet in its steel scabbard. Clean blade made at St Etienne 1879. Iron mounts and scabbard pitted and painted black. One in good condition the other pitted. All in their steel mounted leather scabbards with good grips, straight blades and generally clean condition with service wear. Good blade 58cms with double R mark. Chequered leather grip. Pommel rusted button seized. Good chequered leather grips. Grips complete, stitching good. Leather dry. Serial number 11,502. This makes it a 2nd Model London manufactured in 1854 at the start of the Crimean War. The left hand barrel flat is marked 'WD' below the Government Arrow. Barrel 7.5" with 'Address Col Colt London' to top octagonal flat. Good one piece walnut grips with 'TE' stamp (?). Iron backstrap and trigger guard. Matching numbers (some faded/worn) 'Six shot cylinder with 'VR' proof marks. Crisp, tight action with good lock up. WD mark denotes purchased by the British War Department during the Crimean War for the Baltic Fleet. A good pistol, some oxidisation to metal parts but in V good working order & condition.
