(Fits Gras & Chasspot bayonets.) £60 - £70 1008 Fine and interesting Pattern 1882 Cavalry Troopers Sword. Ricasso marked 'WD' and ' Y.C.MX ' (Yeomanry Cavalry Middlesex). Reverse Riscasso marked '9/90' (Sept 1890) with various inspection marks. The steel scabbard is marked '20 H 11.01' (20th Hussars Nov.1901). Interestingly the bowl guard shows an issue mark '1.15' (Jan 1915). Heavy blade 34.5". Dull steel finish with a good clean blade and markings. Excellent chequered leather grip. A fine example, a sleeper. £220 - £250 1009 Fine & rare Great War 18 Pdr shell. Yellow painted body to denote High Explosive (original paint). With a No Graze fuze which unscrews from the shell body. The fuze & shell body are unmarked and in collector grade condition. This shell head likely for instruction purposes. The copper driving band is also unused in mint condition. The brass casing is dated 3.4.17 & 18 PDR & 'DMG'1917'. The whole in collectors grade condition. Inert. £70 - £80 1010 Flintlock belt pistol, circa 1810-1820. Top of the clean 35" blade marked in script 'Sabre d' Officer de Cavalerie Mle 1896 2nd Taille Manufacture nationale d'armes de Chatellerault 1914'. Ornate brass hilt Phrygian pommel. Wirebound black (leather?) grip (wire & grip v.g.c.) In its steel scabbard with one hanging ring. A scarce and superb Great War French Cavalry Officers sword in collectors grade condition. £180 - £200 1012 French Model 1833 Naval Boarding Knife. Blade 17cm. Plain wooden grip with lanyard ring. Hollow ground triangular section blade made from obsolete French bayonets. French 'B' inspection mark to ricasso. These knives were used by the French Navy in the Crimea. In 1915, 10,800 were brought out of stores and issued to 'Four resolute men' in each squad for cleaning the trenches. Brass cross guard. No scabbard. £130 - £140 1013 French Model 1866 Sabre Bayonet for the Chasspot Rifle made at St Etienne in March 1869 in time for the Franco Prussian War of 1870. Matching numbers '61877' to bayonet & blued steel scabbard. Fine greased blade 22..75. In collectors grade condition. £60 - £70 1014 French Model 1866 Sabre Bayonet for the Chasspot Rifle. This an early example by British Contractor Reeves of Birmingham dating to 1866. Good Yataghan blade 22.75". In its steel scabbard. Ricasso marked just 'Reeves' (not on top of blade as is usual).
