Jason, 10.5cm x 16cm approx., H.M.S Jason was a gun boat built by NC & A (Vickers), launched in 1892 but sadly sunk in 1917. £40 - £60 1234 Nelson (Vice Admiral, Viscount, Duke of Bronte). Signed Postal Free Front, dated October 19th 1802, size 75mm x 115mm approx., contained in a 19th Century gilt frame, glazed. Contained in a display case. Addressed to a museum in Birmingham, not by Nelson, with an indistinct 'unpaid' postmark, signed at the bottom 'Nelson & Bronte' by Nelson in the style adopted by him after 4/2/1801. The damaged back paper is inscribed 'Nelson's handwriting written with his left hand' (Prior to the uniform penny post postage was free for Pears of the Realm). Once owned by Admiral Sir R. H.
