112 2118 Ancient Greek, silver drachm of Arados, Northern Phoenicia, wt. 3.90g., 2nd. century B.C., obverse:- Bee, date and monogram in left and right fields, reverse:- Stag standing right, palm-tree in the background, legend before, Sear 5989, hairline striking crack [hardly visible], a few light marks under magnification, well centred, NEF £60 - £80 2119 Ancient Greek, The Seleukid Kingdom, Seleukos I Nikator, 312-280 B.C., [survived the longest after the death of Alexander the Great, assassinated by Ptolemy Keraunos], silver tetradrachm, wt. 15.75g., obverse:- Head of young Herakles, clad in lion's skin, right, reverse:- Zeus entroned left, holding eagle and long sceptre, monogram under throne and in field, before, Sear 6829, well centred, GVF/NEF £125 - £175 2120 Anglo-Saxon base sceat, Spink 804F, obverse:- Diademed bust, draped, right, cross topped sceptre before, reverse:- standing facing figure, holding long sceptre, topped by cross in right hand and bird? in left, 'T' or perch below, NVF/VF £120 - £150 2121 Anglo-Scandinavian - Viking sword pommel of c.925- 1000 A.D., a central 'Woden', bearded head looks out from centres, each side, the protruding arms are in the form of boars heads with the tusks protruding from the snout, the eyes look to have been silvered, there are many traces of gilding. The structure of the piece is hollowed out with rivet holes each end, one still containing its rivet, the piece has a brownish-purple patina and one of the edges has been pushed in, causing a split, a very rare object with provenance, found 26th.
