Pommel with number '3' and cross - guard marked 'England' to conform with U.S. Import regulations. In its leather scabbard. Raised black ribbed grip. WW2 issue. £140 - £150 1143 Knife: A 3rd Pattern Post War Commercial F.S. knife. Black ribbed grips. 'Sheffield England' stamped to crossguard. Blued blade 7". In its new 3rd Pattern brass chape and leather scabbard. New condition. £90 - £100 1144 Knife: A good WW2 U.S. fighting knife made from a P17 Bayonet Bowie type blade 8" in a drab green general purpose webbing scabbard dated 1944. Square ricasso etched 'The F - S Fighting Knife' and the reverse ricasso 'Wilkinson Sword Co. Ltd. London'. 'S' crossguard 2'. Coarse knurled grip. Then knife is in a 2nd Pattern Scabbard (Elastic retainer a/f). The correct 1st Pattern Scabbard was made by BHG (Barrow Hepburn & Gale) and has a leather retainer with a Newley press stud fastener and lacks the reverse reinforcing piece on the 2nd Pattern. 1st Pattern knives are Rare £800 - £850 1146 Knife: A U.S. Model 1917 Trench Knife by L.F. & C. Company. Triangular blade 8.75" stirrup hilt. with pointed pyramid shaped studs (sometimes called Dragons Teeth). Plain wood grip. Bottom of Cross Guard marked 'US.L.F. & C. 1917' (L.F. & C. Makers name Landers, Friary & Clark) Tubular steel scabbard with leather stitched cover faintly stamped 'Jewell 1918' Locket with U.S. belt hook attachment and steel chape. Of some age with service wear. * These knives have been widely copied. This one appears genuine. Viewing recommended. Sold a/f £300 - £350 1147 Knife: A V-42 Stiletto fighting knife made by H.G. Long & Co Sheffield, England. Square Ricasso one side marked 'H.G. Long & Co Sheffield England'. The reverse ricasso has a thumb recess with ribs to improve grip. Smooth black composition grip with spike pommel. D/E F.S. type blade 7.5". These knives were retailed in the U.S. until 1980s. In its leather scabbard with blackened metal chape. Originally made by Case & Co for the F.S.S.F. (First Special Service Force during WW2). This example is a post war production knife. £180 - £200
