SS NVL ORT correctly named to R. Iron 51st Foot.
Robert Iron was Present at Waterloo, he enlisted
3/10/1811 and was Discharged 6/10/1818. Comes with
some copied research including Quarterly Pay List,
Waterloo Roll, etc. This medal has never been on the

2/11/1917 (Dalston) "In the attack on the 16th August
1917 this NCO was a splendid example to his men
having no officer in charge of his platoon, he led his men
forward and in attacking an enemy strong point,
personally killed five Germans, he showed great
gallantry". Medals - MM, BWM & Victory Medal, GV
TFEM and a Silver War Badge No B298343, plus a Drill

Military Medal GVI group to 6458234 C/Sjt Frederick
Josiah Harris 1st Bn Royal Fusiliers. Medals - MM,
1939-45 Star, Africa Star, War Medal. His MM Citation
reads 'At Kuneitra (Syria) on 16th June 1941 C/Sgt
Harris collected grenades and assisted Sgt Mitchell to
hunt tanks which had forced a way into the village. Later
he established a Bren gun, which he had salvaged, in a
window of Coy HQ and maintained it until ordered to
retire to a new position in the Bn. HQ Area. Throughout
the day he set a fine example to all around him by his
continuous aggressive spirit. Later in the day when the
remainder of the battalion were forced to surrender,
C/Sgt Harris made good his escape'. L/G 30/12/1941.
