R G Wootten 3rd Bn Royal Regt of Fusiliers. MM with
original case of issue + box for GSM. MM L/G 18th
Sept 1973 'In recognition of gallantry and distinguished
service in Northern Ireland during the period 1/2/1973
and 30/4/1973'. Lot also includes a photo of Wootten,
two street patrol maps, original newspaper cutting and
photocopies of letters & telegrams including one from
Lieut Gen Sir Frank King, HQ, N.I. which notes the
following "I am writing to congratulate you on your
award of a MM for your conduct on the 29th March this
year while serving in N.I. I know that on that night you
most skilfully led an ambush and courageously dealt with
three gunmen who surrendered to you. I know that in
addition to this incident you have, on three tours in N.I.
established a reputation as an outstanding leader and I
am delighted your conduct has been recognised by this

MacGregor Scottish Womens Hospital, Medals BWM &
Victory Medal, Serbian Order of St Sava 5th class (tiny
enamel damaged noted), French Ministere de la Gueere
Devouement Epidemics Medal in silver and embossed
'Ms Barbara MacGregor 1917'. Plus French Patriotic
Medal in silver for 1914/1915. Dr MacGregor originally
went out to Salonika with the Newnham and Girton Unit
of the S.W.H. in Oct 1915. Before she was a House
Surgeon at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Newspaper Article
which comes with lot confirms her French Award and
states she suffered with malaria while in Salonika. Plus an
original photo (named on reverse) showing Dr
MacGregor, Admiral Nicholson, Dr Emslie, later Lady
Hutton author of With a Womans Unit in Serbia. (5)
