American Specially Meritorious Medal for the

American / Spanish War of 1898 one of the rarest of

American decorations, named on reverse "Victor

Blue, Lieutenant, For locating the enemies ships in

Santiago harbour, Cuba June 12th 1898". He has

many mentions on the Internet, awarded DSC WW1

and retired as an Admiral. This medal awarded for

services behind enemy lines, he also served in China

(Boxer rebellion) he retired in 1919, he had a famous

Naval brother and son in 1937 USS Victor Blue was

launched in his Honour. Died Jan 22nd 1928, medal

slightly polished, ring replaced VF
