blade 33" single edged with central fuller. Plain brass

guard with shield langets & quillon. In its steel scabbard

(a few dents)

with large teardrop shaped device cut out. Plain curved

blade 32" Ricasso marked 'E & F. HORSTER

SOLINGEN'. Reverse with crown over F.M.I. Top of

blade engraved: 'OBLT. S.J. HEEARD ZU 7.7.39.

NURNBURG'. Twist wire fishskin grip. In its polished

steel scabbard. Red and Gold Bullion 'TRODDELL'

attached to hilt. An immaculate and interesting

personalised sword.

Sword: A good United States dress sword Model 1850 for

staff and field officers by Hilborn Hamburger Inc. New

York in stainless steel etched 'United States Marines.

Brass guard, backstrap with Phrygian brass pommel. In

its brass mounted leather scabbard. The whole is

immaculate condition. A collectors lot.

Sword: A Victorian Highland Officers basket-hilted

sword of the Gordon Highlanders (?). Wirebound

wooden grip. Leather & canvas inner guard. Brass basket

hilt. Engraved blade. In its brass mounted leather

scabbard. The whole piece unmarked other than scroll

engraved unfullered blade 31". Model dates to c1890

however this may be a 20th century piece. Sold as Seen.

by TRAYLER & Co PORTSMOUTH. Nicely etched

blade with Artillery devices. Wirebound fishskin hilt with

triple bar guard. In its leather field service scabbard. In

good overall condition, a 'sleeper'.

V. Blade 32.5". ricasso engraved 'Presented by the

members of the ASC Sgts Mess and a few friends at

Devonport to Gr. Sgt. Mjr. W. Evans on his promotion

to L. & Q.MR'. Top of blade marked 7172. Wirebound

fishskin grip. Steel guard with Geo V. Cypher. In its steel

scabbard (rust staining to scabbard & guard. Blade clean).

With its leather field service scabbard. *Note 2184

C/SJT W. Evans won the Distinguished Conduct Medal

for gallantry at the Battle of Omdurman when serving

with 2/Bn Lancs ? (2.9..98). See DCM also in this sale.

Sword: An African Touareg Arab, 19th century

TAKOUBA sword. Unusually of all good steel

construction. Broad triple fullered blade 29.5" with

symbols to ward off bad luck. Leather scabbard with

small red and green decoration. Circular pommel with

skull crusher pyramid. Metal crossguard with four

pyramid studs and simple decoration. Good condition for

age (minor loss to side of scabbard) A collectors lot.

surface rust (will clean). In its red leather scabbard with

tooled designs. (Minor damage to chape) Circa 19th

century. Favoured sword of the Tourareg Arabs.

example of this popular WW2 sword.
