c1870, detailing drums Britannia, British flag, Rose &

Gallantry Fund (Alexander Cummings Sgt Drummer

1/3/95) and a sterling silver Shooting Medal. Note: Sgt

Drummer A Cummings at great personal risk Rescued

John T. Hollis from Drowning at Norwich on 1st April

1890. the Boy became immersed in the river Wensum,

Norwich. Accidentally while playing on the bank, 8 feet

deep, tide running two knots, Sgt Cummings hearing

cries for help rushed to the spot, plunged in with all his

uniform on, and rescued the boy. Few small edge bumps
