Pearse (Patrick, 1879-1916). An original

hand signed cheque by Patrick Pearse (in

Gaelic), no. 783, dated 23rd July 1913,

9.1cm x 19.3cm approx. Patrick Pearse

was one of the leaders of the Irish Easter

Rising in 1916. The uprising lasted for

six days and it was to stop British rule

and to have an independant Irish

Republic. Pearse was executed by firing

squad, along with the fourteen other

leaders (including his brother).

lists the race schedule for the two day

meeting on the 27th & 28th March 1879,

the National was won by 'The Liberator'

ridden by 'Garrett Moore', 17 x 22
