In its steel scabbard. Pommel is modified most likely for the Kropatschek Rifle. In very good condition. 2) French Model 1866 Sabre Bayonet. Faint inscription, St Etienne 1871 (?) No scabbard. These rifles were used by the Fenians in their attempted invasion of Canada in 1870. Barrel (including breech) 40" (36" to breech) Lock marked 'Bridesburg' with the U.S Eagle stamp. 'U.S.' marked to the buttplate tang. Crisp action and much original finish. A collector's grade example and rarely encountered. With steel tulip head ramrod. £700 - £800
