Curtis Luxton 6th Bn Norfolks, 18th Division. Medals
1939-45 Star, Pacific Star, War Medal. Original MID
Certificate 1st August 1916. With copied research, lived
Micawber Ave, Gt Yarmouth. Taken POW 15/2/1942.
Escaped 20th August 1945 not knowing the War was
over, lived with Thai Soldiers whom he instructed how to
use USA S.A (small arms). Also involved in Sabotage at
Singapore Docks, bombs, Engines, motorcycles, etc by
POW's. At night he went through the fence for food with
the help of the Chinese, also putting sand and sugar into
cars, etc. On his release papers he also puts in a request
to trace Pte's Crowe and Guest of the Norfolks who were
with the Chinese Guerillas in Malaya Koja Tingy.
Interesting lot.

RAF Berlin Airlift Air Force Cross related medals,
documents, photos to SQD Leader R L S Hathaway,
AFC Gazetted 8th June 1950. He did a record breaking
399 trips and later in his service was a navigator for Field
Marshall Montgomery. Collection consist of 1939-45
Star, F & G Star, Defence and War Medals, New
Zealand Service Medal all in box of issue. With several
photos of Field Marshall Montgomery some signed by
him. Also a letter signed by Montgomery. A photo of
Hathaway with Montgomery and various documents and
books including one with all his WW2 Opps. Served with
625 and 75 NZ Squadron. Very scarce group but sadly
no Air Force Cross.
