the MM, attached Z/19 Trench Mortar Batty. Batty

formed May 1916 in 19th Western Divi. MM Gazette

suggests award for 3rd Ypres August/Sept 1917. Heavily

engaged at 3rd Ypres Sept to Nov 1917. Many of these

awards for digging out buried comrades under heavy fire.
