Colonels 1949 Pattern Battledress Blouse, made for
J.O.M. Alexander DSO, MC, Royal Engineers. The
Blouse has Staff Gorgets and there are still some threads
remaining where his Royal Engineers titles had been
removed when he joined the 50th Division TA Staff. All
the insignia is original and untouched and includes red-
backed Colonels Crowns and Pips, the 50th
Northumbrian 'Tyne Tees' Division patches, and medal
ribbons including the Distinguished Service Order,
Military Cross, 1939-45 Star, France & Germany Star,
Defence Medal, War Medal, QEII Coronation Medal
and the Territorial Decoration with rosette. He was
obviously an interesting character who won his DSO and
MC in North West Europe during the Second World
War. The Blouse has wear but only a small amount of
damage; three small moth holes and one small wear hole
just below the collar opening at the front. There is a
grease mark on the lower right back.
