Blenheim IV's by November 1942 and then onto Ansons
carrying out high and low level bombing. In March 1945
he flies Wellington with 77 OTU in the Middle East, in
Cyprus and Ismailia.

B Hargreaves RAF. Involved in SOE drops. He begins
his flight training in March 1942 at trains at Induna and
Kumalo Air Station, he converts to Wellingtons and
passes Bombing Assessment, serving with 36 Sqdn. On
the 12th July 1944 he is involved in a 'Special Drop' his
Log Book noted it as 'S.D. Dirty Dick', and in pencil
'Dordogne', he repeats this again on the 15th July
dropping 'Pascal'. In addition he carries out a number of
Air Sea Rescues. He return's to the UK and carries out
Blue Line Patrol escorting surrendered U-Boats. He then
transfers to Dakota and is involved in Pannier dropping
and glider towing (qty)

x2, RAF Sight Log Book, and a Diary to 2/Lieut
(Squadron Leader) R D Ker RAF, with 1939-45 Star,
Atlantic Star, Defence & War Medals. He begins his
flying training in July 1941 and trains at No 1 Blind
Approach School at RAF Watchfield. He flies Oxfords,
Averos and Battles. In January 1943 he begins flying
Hudsons, carries out practice bombing on a Liberator in
July 1943 and flies to Reykjavik + Kaldadarnes, carries
out Air Sea Rescue Sweeps and Escorts in August 1943,
continues this in September & October, sinks one U-Boat
on 4th October and attacks two further U-Boats on the
17th. Continues throughout November & December,
attacked U-Boat on 23rd Dec notes "flak silenced by
front gunner" (with photo of U-Boat), all with 120
Squadron. His flying continues solidly throughout 1944
again with Air Sea Rescue and U-Boat Hunts. He moves
to No3 School of Ground Radar in Jan 1945 flying
Ansons and in April moves to 226 Maintenance
Squadron in South East Asia. He joins the Airborne
Commando and qualifies at No 3 Parachute Training
School at RAF Chaklala in August 1945. Lot includes
Air Navigators Cert, various photos. Very interesting lot
