reads:- VENERI GENETRICI S C, Venus standing

right, drawing out fold of drapery from shoulder and

holding apple, Sear 3941, some legend weakly struck,

obverse 2 - 5 o'clock and corresponding part of reverse

and signs of some old field tooling, never the less a good

portrait piece, VF

Pudicitia standing left, drawing out folds of drapery from

Scottish Charles I silver 20 pence pieces, first:- Bust

wholly within inner circle, no F over crown, Spink 5591,

second:- Bust to edge, reads SCOT MAG BR, not clear

but seems no 'F' above reverse crown, Spink 5588A?, and

third:- Bust within inner circle, lozenge at the end of

obverse legend, both dies slightly off centre, no sign of an

'F', average F [3]

reverse:- Dea Caelestis, holding thunderbolt and sceptre,

seated to the front on leaping lion, right, over water

which springs from rock on left, Sear 6285, good metal,

brass as, struck Sicily, 43-36 B.C., obverse:- Laureate

head of Janus with features of Pompey the Great,

MAGN [MA in monogram] this only just visible,

reverse:- Prow of galley right, PIVS above, IMP below,

Sear 1394, the neck folds of Janus very clear on this

specimen, nice central and round, slightly rough surfaces,

GF/F

Group which is attributed to York and issued c.1150,

wt.1.13g., 19.72mm., obverse:- King and Queen

standing facing inwards, supporting large, tall sceptre,

legend:- [STI]EFNER, reverse:- Legend of ornaments,

Cross Fleury over Cross Pommee; annulets in field, Spink

1315, J.J.North 922, round flan, nice central strike, a

little extreme edge loss at obverse, 9 to 10 o'clock, a little

weakness on legends each side of obverse design, toned

black, very rare, VF

southern angular flan, both dies off centre, near half-flat,

flan does'nt ring hence possible internal corrosion or

Henry I [XV] and produced coins at Thetford in

Stephen Type II, there being presently only 2 and a cut-

halfpenny known to the cataloguer, this last is BMC 170,

Ex. Linford Find 1883, Ex. B.Roth, Ex. G.Wakeford, Ex.

Montagu 1896, second is Ex. C.Dennett, Spink 90, 324,

Ex. O'Brian Hubbard, Ex.Drabble 706, third Ex.
