pommel and backstrap. Gothic open-work guard with

folding inner piece bearing the cypher of GIV and

retaining much of its original gilt finish. The 82cm pipe-

back blade etched with cypher of GIV. No scabbard

inner guard, 84cm long pipe back blade etched with

makers mark of a knights head for Carl Reinhardt

Kirschbaum (Solingen 1814-1862). No scabbard

Made by Deny Paris in 1880. In its steel scabbard. Non

matching numbers. A decent example.

manufactured at Tulle in Mai 1872. In its steel scabbard

(frog catch missing) lightly pitted. A decent example

overall.

Lebel rifle. Hooked quillon, good blade, white metal hilt

(grub screw missing from press stud catch) pitting to end

of scabbard.

steel scabbard. Blade 22.5. Made at St. Etienne in August

1874. A decent example .
