          men killed and wounded". The Journal

          guns started shelling the boers position, our
        
        
          troops came well under fire, they were shelled
        
        
          and fired on very heavily. Our losses seemed
        
        
          to be very heavy" and "the fellow was struck
        
        
          by a bullet in the left ????, the bullet passed
        
        
          straight through his body and came out at his
        
        
          back just near the shoulder blade". With more
        
        
          hand written accounts possibly by the same
