Sword: A fine 1831 Pattern General Officers Mameluke

sword, formerly the property of Colonel E.A. Wood.

Blade etched with Crown & 'V.R.' and 'E.A. WOOD' &

'X ROYAL HUSSARDS' two piece ivory grip (with

minor repair) polished steel scabbard with gilt mounts

with two suspension rings. Colonel E.A. Wood served in

the Afghan War 1878-9 and participated in the assault of

Ali Musjid and operations in the Leighman Valley. Mid

and Afghan medal with claps. Later in 1884 served in the

Egyptian Expedition and the Sudan and was involved in

the battles of EL TC-B & TAMAI. MID L/Gaz. 6.5.

1884. Egypt medal with clasp and Khedives Star. Later

appointed C.B. Sold with additional research which

includes a good photograph of Col. Wood at Jellabad.

Edward Alexander Wood was born in 1841 & died circa

1898. These Mameluke swords were very expensive and

largely used for ceremonial purposes. This is an

outstanding sword attributed to a fighting soldier in the

Afghan & Egypt Campaigns. Sword sold with further

information on Col. Wood. Viewing highly

recommended.

Sword: A Geo V 1897 Pattern Infantry Officers sword.

NO SCABBARD. Blade etched with Geo V Cypher. In

good condition. No makers marks. Copper wire bound

leather grip. V.G.C. overall.

Sword: a good 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Troopers

sword. Hatchet point blade 33". Plain blade marked

'JOHN GILL'S WARRANTED'. Stirrup hilt, langet

engraved '42'. In its iron scabbard with two large hanging

rings. An excellent untouched example of this iconic

sword. A collectors sword.

Sword: A good EIIR. 1827 Pattern Naval Officers sword

by Wilkinson Sword, London and numbered 104090.

Blade 31" with Wilkinson etched logo. Plain fullered

blade. In its brass mounted leather scabbard. Wirebound

fishskin grip with bullion knot. In excellent overall

condition. Dates circa 1975. In carrying case.

Sword: A plain Artillery type ribbed brass handled

sidearm, with stirrup type guard. Curved blade (slightly

unseated) in its brass mounted leather scabbard (locket

a/f). No visible markings. Worn with some rust.

Sword: A scarce and desirable 1920 Pattern Royal

Airforce Officer's sword. Eagle head pommel and

crowned winged albatross cartouche to the hilt guard.

Blade 32" makers name etched to ricasso:- 'Rogers & Co

8 NEW BURLINGTONS. LONDON W1' and

numbered 14966. Blade with etched panels and initials

'A.F.B'. Gilt guard bears the George V monogram.

Wirebound fishskin hilt. Gilt and leather scabbard.

Excellent condition overall (light wear to gilt in places)

with sword knot.

Sword: A very good 1895 Pattern Victorian Infantry

Officers Sword. Blade 32" by S & J Pillin of Gerrard

Street, London W. Top of blade numbered 10076 & 'W.

WHITE WOOLWICH' . In its excellent leather field

service scabbard. The whole in its leather field service

carrying case. (stitching a/f). A collectors grade example

of this popular pattern sword. Note initials 'H.G.G.' to

cover flap.
