early information as to enemymovements. He remained
with the advance posts, sending back valuable
information, and by the skilful disposition of his led
horses and men, brought his patrol safely back in the
evening'. With copied service papers, born Rhayader,
Radnorshire, Wales. Lot includes Military Cross,
unnamed in Case of issue, Defence Medal in original
named box of issue, Post Office Telegram from

Whitston, he came to Liverpool in 1907 joining the
Police and served in Special Branch during the 1914-18
War. Sometimes in charge of CID at Rose Hill, Prescot
Street & Essex Street Stns. Awarded the 1935 Silver
Jubileemedal in 1935 andwas Commendedmany times
by the Cities Watch Committee. Retired & Died at
Aigburth. Bronze & Silver LS&GC medals with scarce
"Service over 30 Years" bar on silver medal. Both cased,
