Sword: a fine 1803 Pattern Georgian Infantry Officer's sword (sabre).
This pattern of curved sabre was in use before 1803 when it achieved
recognition. Contained in its gilt brass scabbard engraved as follows:
'unanimously presented by the Non Commissioned Officers &
Privates of the Ossery Cavalry to their Commandant EDWARD
FLOOD of Middlemount in the Queen's County Esqu as a mark of
their esteem and appreciation of his conduct 1800'. The Ossery True
Blues were a unit in the Irish Volunteer Corps 1st July 1779. Their
Colonel was Edward Flood. He was the son of Edward Flood of
Middlemount and was born circa 1726. He died in 1804. The sabre
has a curved blade of approx 32". It is etched with foliage, laurel
leaves and a stand of arms with the crowned cypher of King George
III. Traces of original fine blue finish noted, blade in VGC (a few
edge nicks). Gilt hilt with lion's head pommel. Fine chequered ivory
grip (two hair line cracks). Geo III Cypher Brass scabbard with traces
of gilt finish engraved by the maker 'READ No 4 Parliament Street
DUBLIN'. In excellent overall condition (hilt a little loose). A
collector's lot.

Wirebound fishskin grip. Steel 3 bar hilt. Good heavy
blade 34". Ricasso etched 'C.BOYTON & SON.
CLERKENWELL E.C.' Nicely etched blade numbered
'1159'. In its leather field service scabbard (chape a/f). A
quality sword.

Henry Wilkinson of Pall Mall, London. Blade 32"
numbered 42634. Blade etched with Geo V cypher.
Sword dates to c1910-11. Twist wire bound composition
grip. The whole in excellent condition.

Sword: a small sword possibly Spanish (?). Stirrup hilt
stamped 'NATHAN'. Wirebound grip, stirrup hilt with
brass octagonal pommel. Shell guards. Straight
unfullered blade with armourers mark to ricasso (looks
like a knight's helmet?). In its brass mounted leather
scabbard (kinked). Overall good condition.

Sword: an 1827 Pattern Naval Officer's sword. Brass hilt
guard with lions head. Pommel and bullion knot.
Wirebound fishskin hilt (wear to wire). Ricasso marked
'N. ROWE' 'Out fitters, Sheerness'. Engraved blade
(some rust) in its brass mounted leather scabbard, crease
damage near chape. Worn but sound condition.

Wirebound fishskin grip, steel guard with VR Crown &
Strung bugle ricasso with Wilkinson Sword Pall Mall
address. Top of blade with number '14108' which dates
the sword to c1865. Blade 32" (some staining & wear). In
its leather field service scabbard.

VR cypher and folding guard. Ricasso marked
'MAYNARD & HARRIS, 26 LEADENHALL,
LONDON'. Etched blade. No scabbard. Slim blade 31".
Wirebound fishskin grip. Overall a decent sword.

Sword: an 1854 Pattern Infantry Officer's sword by
Firmin & Sons, Strand, London. Blade etched with VR
Cypher & Strung (Rifle Regiment) bugle. In its steel
scabbard (mismatched?). In good condition overall.

Sword: An 1857 Pattern Rifle Regiment officers sword.
Steel guard with strung bugle device. Blade 33". Left side
etched with Geo V Cypher. The right hand side etched
with 'FINSBURY RIFLES' and 'CAPT MOORE'.
Sword is worn overall with some distortion to guard.
Contained in its leather field service scabbard (some
losses to frog attachment straps). The 4th London Regt
(Finsbury Rifles) had 3 officers by the name of Moore
who reached the rank of Captain before and during the
War. (2x won the MC, 1x DSO. One of the MC winners
was KIA 1.7.16.)

LONDON. Etched blade 33" VR, Cypher, wire bound
fishskin grip. In its leather field service scabbard with
frog. A good example of this pattern sword.
