Fine & outstanding Turkish Yataghan, Ottoman sword, circa 1790-1811.
Characteristic 'EAR' shaped hilt of walrus ivory, secured to the tang by four rivets.
Single edged blade 22.5" with narrow fuller. Inlaid Arabic calligraphy to both
sides of the blade, one incorporating a Turkish Tongra. Some light rusting to
blade (in the tip area). Filigree appliqué mounts, with raised flower head design
(party detached above the ricasso, but no losses & held in place by the scabbard).
Sword is contained in a fine repousse silver coloured scabbard with plain panels,
bordered by fine silver coloured decoration, with raised design. A metal ribbed
track separates the grips and is surmounted by a blue coral stone. The sword is of
high quality and of the type favoured by Janissaries. A collector's lot.

Great War Webley Mark VI .455 service revolver. Direct
from the family of Colonel Ivor Cyrus Edwards, CVO,
OBE, TD. of Brecon. Col. Edwards served with the 3rd
Bn Monmouth Regiment. He was gazetted on
29.12.1926 and posted overseas with 137th Infantry
Brigade 46th Div. in April 1940. He participated in the
retirement to Dunkirk and was evacuated with the BEF
from the beaches in July 1940. He went on to have a
distinguished career, being awarded the C.V.O, OBE &
TD. The pistol has all matching numbers and is dated
1917 with issue marks for the same year. It comes with its
deactivated certificate and some copy photos in uniform
and his full service record. Trigger return spring on
revolver is A/F. Nice lot

'OLDEN. DRAG. REGT. No 19' (Oldenburgian
Dragoon Regiment Number 19). Sword made by Alex
Coppel of Solingen. Brown ribbed composition grip &
folding guard. In its black painted steel scabbard (minor
pitting). In good condition overall.
