Royal Navy Officers Jacket, originally tailored for

Captain Edward Maurice Usherwood DSC, in

December 1949. The jacket is in good condition with the

only noticeable damage being that the lining has frayed

at the bottom at the back and the fabric is worn through

just above the right pocket - almost certainly the result of

standing with hands thrust in pockets in a nautical

manner. Usherwood was awarded the Distinguished

Service Cross in February 1945 "For courage and

leadership in operations which led to the Capture of

Sarande and Corfu". The Jacket retains its original King's

Crown RN buttons and rank insignia. The medal ribbons

are: DSC, 1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star, Africa Star with

Rosette, Italy Star, Defence Medal and War Medal.
