Two standing figures with long crosses / Monster left,

with head turned back, exhibiting long crest, as Spink 808

but reverse more artistic and not pattern like, with old

ticket, slightly rough surfaces, reverse slightly off centre,

Anglo-Saxon silver sceat, from the 'porcupine' series, see

Spink pp. 89-90, this particular coin has a beaded edged

crescent, obverse and reverse a central annulet within two

boxes, each has a pellet in each corner, there are no letters

TOTII etc, found Suffolk, a well struck piece, uncleaned

and sharp, GVF

B, Diademed bust, right within serpent circle / Bird on

cross, right, annulets at cross ends, all within serpent

circle, Spink 776-777A, with old ticket, slightly rough

surfaces, NVF

Anglo-Scandinavian enamelled disc brooch with a floral

geometric design, consisting of a circular deep blue

background with a floral motif around a blue central disc.

The enamel work is contained within a copper alloy rim

which was originally gilt, some survives. The outer edge

has six discoid lugs each decorated with a blue glass bead.

The spring and catch-plate are missing although the

fixing scars are still visible, nice item

reverse legend:- LIBERALITAS AVG I I I I, in exergue,

COS I I I I, S C at sides, Antoninus seated left, on curule

chair atop platform, officer standing behind, sword

drawn, Liberalitas, standing, facing at left, holding abacus

and cornucopiae, in front of platform a citizen, holding

out fold of toga for largesse, Sear 4187, interesting and

collectable piece, no corrosion, VF

Crocodile below to right, unusually well preserved for this

Captive Parthian kneeling, right, presenting Roman

standard, Sear 1603. An historical and interesting issue by

Augustus on the recovery of legionary standards captured

by the Parthians during the campaigns, 53 and 36 B.C.

by Crassus and Antony, good metal, GVF/VF

reverse:- Sol advancing right, holding laurel branch and

bow, XXI R in exergue, 'Z' in left field = year 7, Sear

11569, together with a ditto but of Severina, Ticinum

Mint 274-275 A.D., reverse:- Fides Militum and Sol,

standing facing, UXX T in exergue, Sear 11707, both

pieces exhibiting much original silver finish, both NEF [2]
